Did the U.S. pressure PM Lamothe to resign?

The presence of a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III did not go unnoticed on the tarmac of the Toussaint Louverture Airport in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on Saturday. It accompanied a whirlwind of speculation that circulated the halls of power.
It has been suggested that State Department Counselor, Thomas Shannan, was in Haiti as early Wednesday with no other mission but to insure Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe would resign.
Further but unconfirmed information suggest that agents from FBI and CIA accompanied Shannan, going as far as to present dossiers on Lamothe as threats of extradition and prosecution if the Haitian Prime Minister woudl choose not to resign. [AUDIO]
