On Tuesday, one of the two engines of an Airbus A330-300, registration F-Oone, flight TX556, of the French company Air Caraïbes, which was to make the connection between Paris and Port-au-Prince, refused to start despite pilot efforts.

After several failed attempts to restart the left engine, the company's technicians were called. After an hour of work, the engine finally started and the flight was made possible with an hour late. Throughout the duration of the intervention, the 342 passengers remained on board the plane.

No information was provided concerning the causes of the failure of one of two engines.
